Speaking Request FAQ
How do I book a speaking engagement with Dr. Carla?
Please send the details of your proposed event by submitting the online speaker request form. Since Dr. Carla’s schedule fills quickly and she has limited availability for travel, please send your request as soon as possible.
What are Dr. Carla’s fees?
Dr. Carla’s fees are customized for each event depending on the specific request and requirements. Her speaking fee does not include travel and accommodations. A 50% deposit is required prior to the event to secure the date, guarantee her participation, and release her publicity photos and bio for promotional purposes in association with the scheduled presentation. If Dr. Carla is available for your event, the deposit and signed contract must be received a minimum of 30 business days before the scheduled presentation(s) to allow sufficient time for processing, discussing the details of the event, and preparing the customized presentation(s). The remainder of the honorarium is due in full 15 business days before the scheduled presentation(s).
I would like to bring Dr. Carla to speak to my group, but we have a limited budget. Is Dr. Carla’s speaking fee negotiable?
As the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Dr. Carla understands that groups have budgetary constraints. Please let us know what your budget is when you submit your speaker request form.
Does Dr. Carla work with different age groups?
Dr. Carla provides programs for middle school, high school, and college students. She also provides occasional programs tailored for pre-teens enrolled in elementary school. Dr. Carla will discuss her specific requirements regarding adult supervision with clients on a case-by-case basis.
Does Dr. Carla work with boys or co-ed groups?
Dr. Carla has extensive experience working with girls and boys, but she prefers to work with all-girl groups (depending on the topic). Please send additional details and she will evaluate each request on a case-by-case basis. She will also discuss her specific requirements regarding adult supervision with each client.
Does Dr. Carla speak at youth sleepovers, retreats, and lock-ins?
Yes, Dr. Carla speaks at youth sleepovers and lock-ins provided that her presentation(s) and any other duties related to her participation are concluded before midnight.
Can Dr. Carla incorporate specific topics into her presentation?
Yes, Dr. Carla can customize presentations to meet the needs of your audience. Additional fees may apply.
What are Dr. Carla’s travel guidelines and requirements?
- Hotel: The client will be responsible for securing a non-smoking room, with a king size bed, Internet access, and guaranteed late arrival the evening before the presentation.
- Transportation: The client will be responsible for arranging and providing one non-stop, round trip airline ticket from the Atlanta airport. Please arrange for a representative from your organization to provide secure and insured ground transportation or arrange for car service.
- AV Requirements: Dr. Carla needs an LCD projector (with audio) and screen. For workshops and keynotes, she needs a lavaliere and hand held microphone.
- Handouts: If handouts are needed for participants, Dr. Carla will email the original copy to the client for them to photocopy and distribute at the event. This includes Dr. Carla’s required release of liability and consent form for participants and/or parental consent form (required for all participants under the age of 18).
- Testimonials: Dr. Carla and her representatives will ask the participants to complete an evaluation form, sign up for the mailing list (participants can opt-out of receiving email updates at anytime), and submit testimonials at the conclusion of the presentation(s). Participants will have the option to keep their testimonials and/or comments anonymous.
- Photos/Recordings: Audio/video recordings are not permitted due to the customized/proprietary content, personal nature of Dr. Carla’s presentations, and the live questions and personal testimonies shared by minor youth during her presentations. Dr. Carla LLC representatives reserve the right to take photos and/or record portions of Dr. Carla’s likeness and the presentation(s) for internal use and/or promotional purposes (special exceptions will be considered if negotiated before the speaking engagement is confirmed).
- Meet-and-Greet Table/Product Sales: Dr. Carla enjoys connecting with her audiences after her speaking engagements. If requested, please provide a skirted table near the entrance of the room. Products may be shipped directly to the client. Immediately after her presentation, she will also need the assistance of one or two volunteers to assist with product sales so that she can be fully available to engage with the participants.
